Moby "Into The Blue"

Featuring guest vocalist Mimi Goese from the band Hugo Largo. This was shot around Moby's hometown of New York and in a studio in London.

MOBY "Into The Blue"

Andrea Corr "Shame On You"

Andrea Corr started a solo project and asked me to direct the launch video, we talked about the ideas in the song song and decided to bring out the more serious side of her lyrics and focus on the plight of child soldiers in different parts of the world.

www.child-soldiers.org for more information about child soldiers.

A Guy Called Gerald "Voodoo Ray"

A Guy Called Gerald was the first independent UK house talent to get mainstream chart success with "Voodoo Ray" . I was working at the Hacienda in Manchester and Gerald was a regular there. We made this video in the club on a shoestring budget with a clockwork Bolex 16mm camera and low-tech, hand drawn animation.

David Sneddon "Don't Let Go"

David Sneddon was a Fame Academy winner, this was one of three videos that I directed for participants of that show. Saying goodbye at airports is something I feel very connected to.

Cradle Of Filth "Nymphetamine"

I have made two video's for Cradle Of Filth, it's always a pleasure to explore the dark side with them. This one leans more towards the Victorian Gothic and Dani Filth is joined by guest vocalist Liv Kristine.

More Filth here: http://www.cradleoffilth.com/

The Corrs "Would You Be Happier"

I have worked with the Corrs on five music videos and it's hard to pick a favourite project. All the video's had to be shot in different parts of the world because the band's touring schedule was so busy. This one was probably the most fun for the band as we imagined how they would be 're-branded' in different music genres.

THE CORRS - "Would You Be Happier"

Tears For Fears "Break It Down Again"

This video was an amazing opportunity for me, it re-launched Tears For Fears and gave me the chance to use low-fi experimental film techniques in a mainstream video clip.

TEARS FOR FEARS "Break it Down Again"

Texas "You Owe It All To Me"

My favourite of several videos I did with Texas, most of them were shot in their home town of Glasgow but for this one Sharleen Spiteri and Ally McErlaine drive around rural Arizona. The DoP was Seamus McGarvey showing some of the talent that has made him an award winning cinematographer.

KENICKIE "Punka"

Before Lauren Laverne became a respectable radio DJ, TV presenter and 'National Treasure' she was the lead singer and guitarist in the band Kenickie. Their onstage banter with their audiences was legendary. This was one of two videos I made with them.

KENICKIE - "Punka"

Gary Barlow "For All That You Want"

Gary Barlow and some mates turn up at old house and explore.

The Jesus and Mary Chain "Blues From A Gun"

James "Come Home"

One of two videos I did with the brilliant Manchester band James. They are still making great music:

The Corrs "Runaway"

Of all the videos I have made with the Corrs this was probably the simplest, we turned up at the Manchester Arena whilst they were sound checking and shot this in a few hours before they were due to go on stage.

THE CORRS - "Runaway"

Bass-O-Matic "Funky Love Vibrations"

This was  a pop project  from William Orbit, who is dressed in clothes from the late Christopher Nemeth.

BASS-O-MATIC "Funky Love Vibrations"

Omar "It Don't Mean A Thing"

Omar was the sound of British soul music when we made this. He is still making great music. This band also includes Max Beasley when he was a talented percussion player and before his acting career took over.

OMAR "It Dont Mean A Thing"

Renegade Sound Wave "Renegade Sound Wave"

Mute Records band Renegade Sound Wave wanted to shoot in Casablanca but we ended up in Marrakech.

RENEGADE SOUNDWAVE "Renegade Soundwave"

Simon Bonney "Don't Walk Away From Love"

Mute Records' act Simon Bonney is better known for his band, Crime And The City Solution. This is still a personal favourite and allowed me to indulge my obsession with road movies and getting lost in America.

SIMON BONNEY - "Don't Walk Away From Love"

The Sundays "Can't Be Sure"

This was the first single for The Sundays and one of my first music videos. David Gavurin and Harriet Wheeler chose to step away from the music business to have 'normal' lives but it's still possible they might release some more music one day.

THE SUNDAYS - "Can't Be Sure"

Plumb "Sobering"

Plumb is also known as Tiffany Lee.

Dana Glover "Rain"

BBMAK "Back Here"

I directed two videos for the same song. This one was for the US release and was shot in London. The other one was  for the UK release and it was shot in America.

BBMAK "Back Here" (US version)

Midge Ure "Breathe"

This was shot on some cold days in the English countryside and partially inspired by a fascination with Land Art.

Midge Ure "Breathe"

Peach "On My Own"

Pascal Gabriel, Paul Statham and Lisa Lamb made some great pop records and were not a typical Mute Records act. This was one of two videos I made for Peach (known as Peach Union in America)

PEACH "On My Own"

Hinda Hicks "You Think You Own Me"

This is my favourite of two videos I made with Hinda Hicks, she was up for being a drag king in our Jeremy Kyle / day-time TV pastiche.
